  Here are 4 things you need to do before showing up for BlackBerry®JamHack 2012

Choose your BlackBerry®10 Platform and download the SDK

Choose one or more platforms to use for BlackBerry JamHack 2012. Please remember that we are looking Built for BlackBerry® apps for the JamHack events.

Get Your Signing Keys

Before you can submit your application to the BlackBerry®AppWorld™ storefront, or deploy it onto an BlackBerry device without a debug token, you must sign your application. To sign your application, you require device code signing keys. Here's how you can get them:

  • To obtain BlackBerry device code signing keys, see the BlackBerry Keys Order Form.
  • When applying for signing keys, please ensure the box "For BlackBerry®PlayBook OS and BlackBerry 10 and Higher" is checked.
  • After your application is accepted, you'll receive two CSJ registration files by email, a RIM Development Key (RDK) file to sign the application and a debug token (PBDT) file to generate debug tokens (one signing account can be used to generate debug tokens for multiple users).
  • Save these registration files on your computer. You will need them when you configure your environment for application deployment.

Sign up as an AppWorld Portal Vendor

In order to submit apps into BlackBerry AppWorld, you will need to be an approved vendor on the BlackBerry App World Vendor Portal

  • Visit http://bit.ly/BBAppWorldVendorPortal and click "Get Started"
  • Complete the application process:
    • Accept the vendor agreement for storefront
    • Accept the necessary agreements if you wish to sell products on BlackBerry AppWorld
    • Provide the necessary information
  • Once your account credentials have been confirmed you will receive a confirmation email with instructions on how you can begin submitting products by RIM.
  • To speed up the approval of your account, please send an email with subject "BlackBerry JamHack – AppWorld Reg" to BlackBerryAppWorldRequests@rim.comwith your account ID, account name and company name and a scan of your ID or company documents in order to verify your identity. You will receive confirmation once your account has been activated.
  • If no response within 48 hours of submission, please contactdevmarketingap@rim.com with "BlackBerry JamHack – AppWorld Reg" and quote your email address and name that you have registered under.
