Golds for Peribahasa Scanner in iCOMPEX 2014

iCompex 2014 is an innovation competition thru exhibition organized by Politeknik Sultan Abdul Halim Muadzam Shah (POLIMAS). This is a national annual event to exhibit creation and innovation produced mostly by Polytechnics around Malaysia and also open for the public.

For the exhibition I presented a poster for my current research product “Automated Malay Peribahasa Identifier and Translator”. The app is basically a proverb dictionary. The unique capability of the app is – its able to detect Malay proverb in text, and normalize the text so that it will not have proverb anymore. Once the text is normalized, it utilized Google Translate API to translate the normalized Malay text into English.
